Learn how to make slipcases and boxes with lids. Using decorative and plain papers, book cloth and fastenings you'll learn to make beautiful boxes to keep your books and keepsakes in.

The workshop will take you through the different stages of making boxes - measuring, preparing, and lining the boards, building the box frame and covering in book cloth or decorative papers. You will also learn how to attach fastenings such as ribbons and magnets and explore a variety of style options for lid closures. At the end of the day, you will take home a slipcase for a book, a small lidded box and plenty of inspiration and skills to continue working on your own projects.

Materials will be provided, but please bring along a small (A6ish) book for your slipcase. One will be provided if needed.

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners or for those who need a refresher.

Teas and coffees will be available during the day but please bring along your own lunch.
